We both teach semi-flipped, where students learn foundational material before class to make room for high-value activities such as addressing misconceptions, building intuition, discovery, peer instruction, and deeper reasoning. However, our implementations are different. So, we compare our approaches to prep work, classroom activities, and motivating students to come prepared, all in service of making the most of the limited time we have with students in the classroom.
